BARBARA: "Peger" CD (Heart & Crossbone, Israel)
"Juxtaposing noise-core, grind and doom, with strong hints of black metal, it's hard to accept the fact that Barbara's instrumental line-up is comprised only by a drummer (David OPP A.K.A Cadaver Eyes) and a bass player (Re-em H). Both of them also deliver the screams and perverse whispers on their first album in four years, a hectic and mindless anti-musical rupture. For fans of Today Is the Day, VOG, Truman's Water, Burmese, Lightning Bolt and Pig Destroyer.
Psycho Doom Grind, 44 MIN, 999 copies."

Antennacle features ex-Creation is Crucifixion member Nathan Martin as well as Rick Gribenas. This record features an awesome array of custom-built electronics along with bizarre found audio. BORIS vs SBGM: "Damaged" split 10"/DVD (Diwphalanx, Japan)
Both bands check in with killer punk vibe, presumably paying homage to Black Flag. Boris is heavy on the psychedelic thrash end of their spectrum, and Stupid Babies Go Mad rip it pretty hardcore too. Includes a 70-minute concert DVD with both bands. Unlike other Boris DVD's with pristine production, this one is "damaged" with artistically blown-out visuals. It's Boris' 9/11/06 show from Brooklyn. Edition of 1500.

DEATH UNIT/PRURIENT: "Terminal Cases" CD (Archive, USA)
Nuts and bolts label return to live documentation recorded one noisy night in NYC in 2006. Death Unit would be the No Fun double drummer supergroup comprised of Carlos Giffoni (electronics), Brian Sullivan (guitar, Mouthus), Trevor Tremain (drums, Hair Police), and Chris Corsano (drums, every band). If Gaping Maw had a big brother it would be Death Unit. Prurient is Dom Fernow of Hospital Productions on electronics voice and hellbent commitment to inflict noise and feedback. Single pressing of 500 copies, sold out from Archive.

CHARLIE DRAHEIM: "Choose to Lose" 7" (BloodLust!, USA)
"This is the first release on BloodLust! by Detroit's Charlie Draheim, and I could not be happier. Draheim has been a major figure in both my social and my musical cosmologies during the last few years, and his recordings and his live shows have reached such a peak-state that I could not hold off any longer in releasing some of his intense, blasting electronic noise. The choice is yours... win or lose? Private series number twelve." White vinyl, edition of 300.

CARLOS GIFFONI/LASSE MARHAUG: "Lesbian Brunch" CD (Archive CD, USA)
Another sold-out Archive CD. Simply killer harshness from 2 of noise's biggest stars (if it's okay to use that word). It's the sense of structure, the layers of clearly audible shifting and changing sounds, that make this one outstanding.

GRAVE IN THE SKY: "Cutlery Hits China: English For the Hearing Impaired" CD (Heart & Crossbone, Israel)
"The Sludge-core scene is injected with a poison: Horror movies' DVD subtitles are being gargled and forced into song lyrics, backed up by heavy poundings and black metallic space-rock dirges, on this new release from Rani Zager (Poochlatz /Lietterschpich), Maor Appelbaum (Poochlatz/Sleepless/Screening) and Matan Shmuelly (Armilos). Check this out if you're into Hey Colossus, Corrupted, Gravitar, Darkthrone and Electric Wizard.

KATCHMARE: "Sea of Blood" CDR (Scissordeath, USA)
Artist's Quote: "These are the first Katchmare recordings that I will allow to be heard. Lots of variety here. LIETTERSCHPICH: "I Cum Blood in the Think Tank!!!!!!!!" CD (Heart & Crossbone, Israel)
"If Mark Stewart was joining Khanate and Bad Brains were playing black metal, there's a slight chance that a resemblance to what Lietterschpich (Hebrew for Liter of Cum) has achieved with their debut album will arise. This bleak digital-doom-dub shriek is bound to slap the hard-core fans of innovative harsh music. It doesn't get more extreme than this! Featuring members of Barbara and Grave in the Sky, this is highly recommended if you like Throbbing Gristle, Volt, Stallagh, Menstruation Sisters and White Mice.

Shinsuke and Masami’s renderings represent a Japanese working of psychy folk for guitar and vocals. Ikuro offers a contrasting short piece of oscillator assemblage that is firmly rooted in the avant-garde, with overtones of conceptualist art, found sound, and experimentalism. The release comes packaged in a 1/2 fold heavy stock cover with a pressing size of 550 copies design and silkscreen work by Jason Killinger from Birds of Maya.

PRURIENT: "Whip Enthusiasts" 7" (BloodLust!, USA)
For this single, Dominick Fernow seems to have crafted the ultimate Prurient statement for BloodLust! - two tracks that seamlessly combine Fernow's "Pleasure Ground"-style minimal-synth leanings with his most caustic, raw, black metal lust - resultingin a truly brutal mutated style of power-electronics; private series number eighteen. RELIGIOUS KNIVES: "Live at Bigjar" CD (Archive, USA)
A four track live disc recorded in August of 07. While Religious Knives represent half the former output of Double Leopards, the output from this quartet is anything but. Raw and dirty garage rock for keyboards, bass, guitar and drums that sounds more comfortable being off the Doors early demo days box set rather then a No Fun offshoot band. SWORD HEAVEN: "Piles" 7" (BloodLust!, USA)
"For those who could use the help, imagine "Filth"-era Swans and "Kollaps"-era Einsturzende Neubauten, meeting for a recording session in some horrid, massive factory basement, but only two guys showed up, and they still managed to simply pulverize the hell out of everything. "Piles" is a breakdown from the middle of a live song called "Under the Face," which was recorded in September, 2006. The song is usually only about two minutes long, but on that night, the breakdown itself lasted for 7 minutes. The band split it into two parts, retaining all of the screaming, the feedback, the pounding, and the scraping. Private series number fourteen." White vinyl, edition of 300.

JORMA TAPIO & TERJE ISUNGSET: "Aihki" CD (Ektro Records, Finland)
"weird and wonderful...armed with flutes, bells, voices, kantele, percussion, Jew's harp and lots and lots of drums...super wild and wooly, ultra dense blast...tribal forest folk free jazz. Or something like that...dense psychedelic percussive freak outs, lots of splattery spastic free jazz drumming all over the place, deep bowed bass, steel string zings, and super creepy strangled and howled vocalizations... primal and tribal, thick swaths of rhythmic throb underpinned by shimmering washes of cymbal sizzle and warbly mumbled melodies....seriously wild squalls of spastic skitter, and octopoidal crash and bang. The vocals grunt and chant, sort of yodel, and hoot and holler, very festive and just a little nuts sounding."
I really like this one myself!!!
