Opposite Records Releases
KEN TIMBER "Worried Blues" CD-R (Opposite Records, USA)
Ken's new album demonstrates his hands-on, lo-fi style of computer-generated music. Three tracks that explore the human condition (Ken's condition, at least) through the manipulation of big pieces of sampled sound.

JUNKO - MASAYOSHI URABE - MICHEL HENRITZI: "Ecstasy of the Angels" CD (Opposite Records, USA)
The formidable trio recorded live. Michel Henritzi creates bleak, fractured landscapes with snare drum, wood and metal junk, turntable and feedback. Cult favorite Masayoshi Urabe adds uneasy atmosphere with alto sax and guitar. The banshee vocals of Junko bring almost undescribable dread to the mix.

KEN TIMBER "Regurgitated Music" Cassette (Opposite Records, USA)
Pro-duplicated chrome tape is the perfect medium for 37 minutes of Ken's unique approach to noise. Sloppy guitar, synth, loops and software were utilized. Various levels of fidelity were achieved. Noise is fun--don't forget it!

HS52bis "Les 3 Girafes/Kill metal hate in ur body" CD-R (Opposite Records, USA)

DEATH'S HEAD QUARTET: "Death's Head Quartet" CD (Opposite Records, USA)
Free jazz meets grindcore. Take a noise bath! Rob Williams (Siege, Nightstick), Seth Putnam (A.C.), Jim Hobbs (Fully Celebrated Orchestra) and Chris Joyce (The Nothings) join up to blow the roof off the world of heavy music. This debut studio album is an uncompromised, uninhibited, harsh, challenging, and intensely satisfying dose of music. You better love 'em or leave 'em alone.

LAP DANCER: "Noise For Skirt Manipulation" CD-R (Opposite Records, USA)
Harsh noise heads will definitely get a rush from this one. No overdubbing or editing. Swirling, squealing distortion and feedback. High speed, intense impact. Small edition release.

KK NULL: "Erg per Galaxy" CD (Opposite Records, USA)
One of the finest works of KK Null's career, he modestly calls this "high-quality cosmic noise." A fierce expression of Nulltronics created without synthesizers, guitar, or computers. I say it brings to mind radio transmissions from other planets and electrical storms being shaped by KK's hand. Intensely trance-inducing.

MERZBOW: "Merzzow" CD (Opposite Records, USA)
MERZZOW combines animal concepts and deconstructions of 20th century music, ambient drones and a deep grinding groove, synth tones and harsh bursts of liquid electricity in a varied and dynamic 11 tracks in 70 minutes that is sure to please all you fans.
It is even accessible enough that it makes a perfect introduction for your friends who have never heard Merzbow music before. (For those of you that don't know, 'zou' is the japanese word for 'elephant'. Pronounce it 'mertz-zoh'.)

"Great album! Showcases the new-found range of sounds and structures that Merzbow began to explore with his Powerbooks... 'Inside Looking Out Pt.1' is stunning, beautiful. Processed melodic droning guitar loops are joined by rythmic noise loops in a 9 minute track that starts off quietly and builds to a great intensity. 'Koshinzuka' is a short piece of rotating tones, synthetic textures, and stereo manipulation. 'Music Machine' is another 9 minute epic of processed loops and guitar... And with 'Horse', we find Akita-Sensei revisiting his late 80's style of brutality in a new school laptop way... There is a lot to like about this cd. Recommended."
--The Internet Merzbow Database. Thanks, Anthony!

STINKPIPE: 7" (Stinkpipe/Opposite Records, USA)
6 songs on 7" vinyl. Looking for a slab of down and dirty Massachusetts punk? Right this way, ladies. Like MC Trachiotomy might say, cross a high octane drag strip and an underwater train wreck--yer smelling Stinkpipe. Punk's not dead, it's just outside with filthy blue flesh, waiting to drink yer effin' blood.

DIAPSIQUIR: "Pacta Daemoniarum/Crasse" 2CD (Hospital Productions, USA)
"Having already left a strong mark on their two revolutionary double albums on End All Life Productions, which carry the rare honor of warranting the term avant-garde without regard of following any blueprints, here are the first two demo's by this obscure and controversial French outlaw black metal band known for their decadent activities. Pacta Daemoniarum (1999) and Crasse (2001) exhibit twisted, vociferus manic vocals spit on top of complex orchestrated highly distorted chaotic metal. Never resting and fully absorbed in the savage, sexually violent, drug-laden nihilism of French subculture."

KEVIN DRUMM: "Imperial Distortion" CD (Hospital Productions, USA)
"...On this extended long form release Kevin Drumm comes face to face with minimal drone music and confronts the genre by providing one of its absolute pinnacles at the forefront; movement... this is a work that commands intellectual and emotional commitment on the levels of the greatest works to come from this genre... a listener is transported not only to another place but also the deepest layers of themselves. Kevin Drumm has accomplished that rare balance to create a masterwork that no one has yet to come close to in this era."
