LAP DANCER

Opposite Records launches a CD-R series in July 2005 with the release of "Noise For Skirt Manipulation."

Lap Dancer has been singled out as one of the best new noise artists, as well as one of the best project names!
This is harsh noise with a fast-moving, exhilarating style.

Revolving around pedals, microphones, laptop and found objects, Lap Dancer's "Noise for Skirt Manipulation" strikes with impeccable precision. The 24 minute live improvisation, "Driving on Windy Days," while featuring no overdubbing or editing, blossoms in rich fullness and swirls through shades of varying distortion, continually shifting and mutating are the crescendos and resolutions. The remaining three pieces feature harsh microphone and pedal play and a squealing collage of sharp feedback. In its brevity, “Noise for Skirt Manipulation" smoothly manages to seduce, sedate and strangle the listener.
